Bespoke private house in the village of Roxburgh, Scottish Borders. Impermeable clay ground conditions meant a traditional soakaway was not viable and so an innovative SUDS system was adopted called EnergyPassive Groundwater Recharge Pumps (EGRP) which worked by dissipating surface water through infiltration trenches into 90mm dia 6m long boreholes installed within the garden. This system when installed requires no energy source for the ‘pump’ and little maintenance. Images courtesy of Paul Zanre
